We are very fortunate to be training here and not trying to fly the mountain. Every day except Saturday has been bad for experienced pilots so far.

I finally think that my internet connection in the landing field is working so I am going to take a chance and create a post that uses an mp3 file on my .mac account.

Days One and Two at Lookout Mountain

I am having internet trouble here at the landing field at Lookout mountain Flight Park so I may not be able to post any of the MP3 files like I had hoped. Anyway, David and I are having a good time here. David did so well sunday that he may fly from the big hill Monday. Of course, that depends on the weather. We are supposed to have three straight days of rain. It never fail that if I come to Chattanooga then it will rain. David's tandem's are also going well. He will have a total of 6 tandems and 50 training hill flights. I hope he will not be too discouraged if he does not get to solo here this trip. I just want for us to have a good time. I have a nice MP3 and Movies from the first day. The second day I only took video of his 9 launches. They were all good!

I have seen three people that I know here. First was Bob Belshum who used to fly the mountains of Arkansas and lives in Memphis. Second was Oliver Gregory who fley from Hensons Gap to Lookout and I got a photo of him in the air. Mike Barber was the one who told me who the pilot was. Third was Rex Lyle who flew with me from Nebo to Oklahoma many years ago. He is one of David's instructors. It was good talking to him and reminising over our long 85 mile flight.

Update: I have placed the photos on my Yahoo Groups for Arkansas soaring. The URL is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Arkansas_Soaring/. You probably must be a member to look at the photos but that is the best I can do for now. I may also be able to put the mp3 there also.

My first Wednesday Flight of the year Photos

I decided to make this day into two posts instead of only one due to difficulty in getting my ipodder program to recognize that there was an audio file available. There are 5 more images available in addition to the one shown below. They are:
